dish wash PS products

Care instructions PS frying pans

Your new pan is delivered with a protective coating that needs to be removed before use.

  • Wash it off with hot water and detergent – both inside and outside – and dry carefully.
  • Cover the bottom with a heat resistant oil and place pan on moderate heat for about 20 minutes.
  • Remove oil and dry pan with paper. It is now seasoned and ready to use!
  • Wash with hot water only. Dry carefully and season with a thin layer of fat. For full effect, heat the pan when doing this.
  • If forced to use detergent, you must re-season the pan afterwards.

Care instructions PS spatula

Your spatula was made for tough work and a long life of facing high temperatures and hot fat. With just a little care it will last for generations.

  • Preferably hand wash with hot water and washing-up liquid.
  • Your spatula can take repeated machine washing, but abrasive materials in some dishwasher detergents will dull the surface of the material. This will not affect its qualities.
  • Always dry spatula when not in use.
  • A clean and dry spatula is a better spatula.

Care instructions PS tweezers

Your stainless steel tweezers from PS can withstand a lot: High temperatures, water, steel pots and pans, acidic ingredients, detergents, etc.

  • Machine wash. Abrasives in dishwasher detergents may dull the steel surface, but this will not affect the tweezers’ function.
  • Your tweezers are a universal and very practical tool for all sorts of tasks, but don’t let them leave the kitchen. Don’t lift objects that are too heavy.
  • Keep dry.

Care instructions PS side towel

Over time, any frequently used kitchen towel will develop stains. However, it will also become more supple and more absorbent.

  • Wash at a minimum 60°C/140°F (your PS-towel copes with 90°C/194°F). Washing at a lower temperature increases the risk of bacteria remaining on your towel and spreading in the kitchen.
  • Do not use rinsing agents or starch. A side towel coming into contact with food should not leave ‘flavors’ behind of any kind.
  • Change the side towel frequently. A dirty towel should not come near any food. A damp towel does not insulate against heat. A clean and dry towel says a lot about you and your kitchen.

Care instructions PS cutting board

Always keep in mind that wood is a living material that will be affected by temperature, humidity, etc. Never machine wash a wooden cutting board.

  • Avoid letting food and liquids soak into the wood for a long time.
  • Do not wash in the dishwasher.
  • Do not soak. Wash with warm water and detergent. Stand up and leave to dry away from water, the spot behind the faucet might not be the best place.
  • Saturate with paraffin oil – which is harmless and tasteless – on a regular basis.

Care instructions PS sauteuse

Your stainless steel sauteuse from PS can withstand a lot: High temperatures, water, steel kitchen tools, acidic ingredients, detergents, etc.

  • Dishwasher detergents might contain abrasive substances that will give the steel a dull appearance if machine washed often. The sauteuse’s qualities will not be affected.
  • Clean with hot water and washing-up liquid and dry with a kitchen towel.
  • Fill with water and leave for a few hours to loosen up and remove burnt food.

Care instructions PS mise en place bowls

Your stainless steel containers can withstand boiling water, acidic ingredients, steel utensils, detergents, and more. The covers are made from high quality silikon suitable for handling food.

  • They can be machine washed over and over again. Dry and store in a dry place.
  • Expect the shiny surface to become dull with time, especially if you use a dishwasher. This will not have any effect on function and qualities.
  • Fill with water and leave to soak for a while to soften up any food sticking to the container.
  • The covers can be stained by strong, natural pigments in food. This will not affect their function and it will not have any effect on the risk of pathogens gaining a foothold in this carefully chosen material.

Care instructions PS knives

The first priority of professional quality kitchen knives is to do an excellent job on the cutting board, water resistance comes second. Therefore you must be meticulous when washing, drying and storing your chef's knives from Professional Secrets.

  • Preferably hand wash with hot water and washing-up liquid.
  • Always dry the knife when not in use. It is made from quality steel from Sandvik which withstands water and humidity, but it is optimized for sharpness.
  • Protect your knife. The designer case makes a great gift wrapping, but above all it is a form of protection when transporting it.
  • Apply a honing steel often. Have your knife sharpened by professionals once in a while.

Care instructions PS cooking pots

Your stainless steel pots from PS can withstand a lot: High temperatures, water, kitchen tools made of steel, acidic ingredients, detergents, and more.

  • Dishwasher detergents might contain abrasive substances that will give the steel a dull appearance if machine-washed frequently. The pots qualities will not be affected.
  • Clean with hot water and washing-up liquid and dry with a kitchen towel.
  • Fill with water and leave for a few hours to loosen up and remove burnt food.

  • A clean apron is a better apron.
